Christmas Day 2010

Well it is 2011 and I'm just now getting around to posting about our Christmas day.  A nasty little sinus/chest bug took over my body, as well as the girls, and it has put me a bit out of commission.  But this is about recording memories, so I guess it is never too late to write about them!
As I said in my last post, our Christmas day was wonderful and everything I was hoping.  The boys came and woke us up at 7:30, which was the earliest they were allowed to wake us up.  They stayed in our room as we woke up Gigi and Poppi and checked to make sure that Santa did indeed visit the Brummett house.  I would say that he definitely made a stop

( I had to mash two pics together so it looks kinda funny!)

We woke the girls up right before we let the kids come out to the family room and they were just a little overwhelmed.  When they came out into the family room we were all excited for them to see everything and I think is was too much because they started crying.  They just wanted to be held and to wake up a little more I guess.  The boys were troopers and instead of racing to see what Santa left them , they spent the first 15 min trying to make the girls happy and showing them what Santa had brought.  Such good big brothers I tell ya! Once the girls came to, they were ready to play! They played with their new kitchen while the boys opened up their gifts.  Us adults opened up gifts here and there and the morning was a haze of paper, bows and toys!

Once we finished opening gifts and ate some breakfast, it was time for clean up and naps.  Gigi and Poppy headed home to finish up our Christmas day dinner preparations and the boys played their video games while I tried to make some sense of the Christmas disaster.  Once the girls woke up, we got ready and headed over to Gigi and Poppy's for dinner and visiting with the rest of the family.  We had such a yummy dinner and a great time just catching up with everyone.  The kiddos got some more gifts from our family and the girls got overwhelmed once again.  We decided to save their gifts from Gigi and Poppy to be opened the next day when things had calmed down a bit.  I had such a good time eating and visiting that I didn't take any pictures at Gigi and Poppy's, but I did snap this of the girls before we left.  They insisted on standing in front of their new "chicken."

We were blessed to have a very Merry Christmas and wonderful 2010 and look forward to what this new year brings for our family!
