A Party Fit for a Princess (or two)

The Saturday after the girls birthday was their party day for friends.  The past two years we have just had a party at home that was more about our friends getting together and watching the girls eat cake and open presents.  This year with joining a playgroup and just playing with other little friends more often, it was definitely more of a "kid" party.  I had planned a long time ago to do a princess themed party and had ideas for decorations and what not swirling in my head for months.  The day of the party, a swirling of a different source happened and mother nature decided to give the royal kingdom and nice wind storm.  So, you can imagine that all of the cute decorations I made from tulle and tissue paper were a no go! Since it was so hot as well, all of the cute little treats I made melted and the girls tiered cake pretty much melted into a pile of buttercream, but not before we all got to enjoy a piece.  I def learned my lesson not to go all out for outdoor parties! Haha We held the party at a soccer field with a pavilion that is right around the corner from our house.  We ordered the girls a big castle bounce house so we needed lots of space for that and for all the little kiddos to run around. The girls were spoiled once again with gifts from friends and definitely had a wonderful time jumping and playing with everyone.

At the end of the party, when tiredness was setting in and the effects of the heat were taking its toll, the people came to take the bounce house down.  I thought there were going to be meltdowns but there were not.  There was just a group of little girls that were very concerned about where the castle was going.  Ell kept pointing and saying "Hey why dat mean ode guy takin my castle?! He a bad guy!"

I would say that the party ended up being perfect and the girls couldn't of had a better time.  My babies are so little anymore and it makes me sad and happy all at the same time!
