Where On Earth Have We Been?!?!

In my typical bloggy fashion, I seemed to have let another month slip by with out hardly a peep from the Brummett house.  I make no excuses except for the fact that we have just been busy living life and enjoying sweet HOT summertime...which is totally what we should be doing!

The boys finished school late this year, June 4th, because of some make up snow days.  They went to their moms house for a week before we left for our family vacation.  The girls and I spent a lot of time at the pool to get our tan on in preparation for the beach! Jay and I celebrated our 5 year anniversary a week early with some friends at The Gaylord Texan and Glass Cactus.  It was a perfect night and we drank and danced and did exactly what we wanted to do.  It was a mini re-enactment of the dancing party that was our wedding reception 5 years earlier :). 

We left for our Gulf Shores beach vacation on June 17th (our actual anniversary) and stayed until June 25th.  We rented a beach house in a cute neighborhood with a bunch of family and it was a blast! It was definitely crazy around the house with 6 adults and 9 kids, but life wouldn't be the same if we didn't have crazy! 

Father's Day was our first full day on the beach and it was perfect. The whole house was awake, fed and beach ready by 9:30 so we headed down to the sandy shores.  The boys fished and played football and us girls just relaxed and sunbathed.  Ella and Landrie loved being at the beach and were so cute collecting sea shells.  They were funny because within an hour of being on the beach everyday, they wanted a snack and then they passed out in the shade for at least 2 hours.  It was awesome!

 The boys fished everyday and Jake was pretty excited when he caught this little baby blacktip shark.  Luckily he caught it a ways down the beach from where people were swimming because we were a little worried about where the Momma was! Ha!

 My first attempt of many through the week to get a picture of all the kids.  Don't worry, Ella made it into the background of the pic while she was asleep. :)

 The boys had just released this crab and thought it was pretty funny that it was raising its claws and trying to put up a little fight.

After dinner we decided to head back down to the beach to watch the boys fish and run around some more.  It was such a nice evening and could have stayed out all night if it weren't for the crabs that started running around everywhere...I'm not a fan! Ha!
