This week just about disappeared right before my eyes! It started out normal enough, that is until Galen woke up Tuesday morning with a temp of 103.4 and looking just about as good as he felt. After calling the school to report his absence for the day, I was informed that the swine flu was running rampant through the school and that this is most likely what he had contracted. Now, I don't know about you, but
anyone in our house contracting some kind of majorly contagious bug is just about my worst nightmare. Not only does it totally stink that the person feels like poop, but I become severely OCD. Wednesday morning, Galen woke up and his fever was still there, just not as high. By Wednesday afternoon, I had gone through almost two cans of lysol and had disinfected every light switch, knob and handle in our house. By Friday, I was on my fourth can and our patient was doing much better and was fever free. I'm knocking on wood here, but so far no one else has gotten what ever bug it was that Galen had and I'm
seriously thanking God! In the midst of my OCD over how to keep the other 5 people in our house healthy, I began to feel sorry for the Duggars...you know the family with 18 kids and one on the way...they must have someone in the house sick all the time. Or maybe that is secretly why they home school, their kiddos aren't exposed to as many germs. They might be on to something there...but I digress. After being cooped up and taking care of a sick patient, it was time to get out. So, Saturday the boys headed off to a far away football game and the girls and I headed out to a charming little town called Waxahachie. Yes, funny name but one of the most charming little towns. It was a beautiful fall day and a wonderful way to get out after our week. Here are a few pics from the day!

You really can't tell how funny this picture is, but Landrie was TERRIFIED of a talking skeleton decoration that the restaurant had up for Halloween. She was playing in this pumpkin patch and kept bending down to make sure it wasn't coming to get her! The girl is crazy...Tomorrow I'll have a fun post up about a totally random meeting that we had in the charming town of Waxahachie, so come back then!
