I've obviously been M.I.A for the last couple of weeks and have finally slowed down to the point that I can actually post a little something. For those that don't know, my Nana had been battling the advanced stages of Parkinson's Disease for the year. Over the last 3 weeks, she took a turn for the worse with pneumonia and various other complications and I, along with the girls and my mom and dad, decided that it was time to drive up to Cincinnati to be with her. We left on Sat. the 19th when she had just been moved to hospice and she went to be with her mom, dad and sister up in heaven on the 21st. I'm thankful that we made it in time to be there with our family and with Nana as she had her final moments here on earth. Over the weekend as we were driving up we kept getting updates from our family and they were in agreement with the nurses on the fact that no one could believe that my Nana was still alive each day...we decided she was waiting for us. We were in Cincinnati for 11 days and the girls proved to be a very blessed distraction, especially for my Papaw. Speaking of my Papaw, he seriously was the the most devoted, loving and precious man I've ever seen over this last year. Patience was never one of his strong points, but you would have never known it by the way that he cared for my Nana...seriously, the BEST! Before I get too emotional, I'm going to cut it off here and leave you with a few pics. I'm beyond happy that my Nana got to see the girls and spend some time with them in the last year and I'm grateful to have these pictures to show to the girls as they get older!

What a wonderful thing to say about Dad...thank you! I truly believe, as you said, that Mom was waiting for all of us to be together. Thank you for yet ANOTHER long, long road trip!!
