Last weekend the girlies and I headed out
again for our umpteenth road trip. The boys were spending the weekend with their Mom and Jay had a guys fishing trip planned out of town, so you know we couldn't just stay home by ourselves! About a month ago when I first realized that all our boys would be gone, I called Aunt Kristen to see what their plans were for the holiday weekend. When she told me that they would be celebrating Jacksie's birthday and the rest of her fam would be in town, the deal was sealed, the girls and I were Louisiana bound! We arrived late Friday afternoon and played on Jackson's new swingset for a bit then headed out to downtown alive. With three toddlers in tow, we of course arrived way late but it was more than ok. The kiddos discovered the fountains that pop up out of the ground and proceeded to squeal and run with delight in and out of the water for the next 45 minutes. Kristen had her camera that night so she has all of those photos, which I'll be sure to share as soon as I see em! We had reservations at a great little Mexican food place and had to get the kids dried off really quick. We didn't have towels, so dry diapers it was! After enjoying a great dinner and company, we headed back home for a good nights sleep after a long day. Saturday morning we slept in and when I went in to get the girls, I discovered that Landrie had thrown up all over herself and it was clear that she wasn't feeling too hot. I wasn't sure if she was sick from the long day before, the fact that she had eaten her weight in chips and queso or if she was coming down with something, but I felt really bad for her. She got sick a few more times then went down for a 3 1/2 hr nap from which she awoke as if nothing had ever happened. I was thrilled at the fact that I thought a crisis was diverted (thought being the key word) and we spent the rest of the day playing outside and enjoying the weather. The next day would be Jackson's birthday celebration, lots of fun and lots more sickness, but that is for another post! Until then, here are the pre-party day pics...

We worked on our big girl eating skills this trip since we were with out our high chairs! The girls both did pretty well, at this particular time Miss Ella decided this was more important...

She was exhausted from our car trip and having only had a 45 min nap thought that Aunt Kristen was a pretty comfy place to rest her head and have a snooze.

Landrie was a ham...

Ella was a diva...

and Jackson fell victim to the girls new obsession with baby dolls and was put in their stroller so that they could mother him as their own. They of course scurried away for the picture so that they could not be incriminated!
