A Short Story by Landrie

Hi Everybody! Mommy let me take over the blog tonight since she is still trying to get back on track after vacation.  She keeps walking around saying how she feels like everywhere she turns there is a new mess to clean up.  I don't think sissy and I have anything to do with that, it must be our bubba's and all their friends! Tonight I want to tell you about a little walk me and Mommy and sissy went on right before our vacation.  It was just a nice night to be out, so Mommy took me and sissy to our friend Sophie's house to see if she wanted to play with us.  Mommy said we looked like such big girls holding hands and walking down the side walk and she kept saying how before she knows it, we will be going to our friends houses all by ourselves.  We think it will be a while and right now we have fun playing with Mommy anyways.

 

It took a little while to walk around the block to Ophie's house, but it was fun exploring everything a long the way.  When we got there, we rang the doorbell a lot, but it turned out that our buddy wasn't home.  Ophie got a neat little rocking chair from her Mommy and Daddy and it is just the right size for me to sit in too! Even though our friend wasn't home, Mommy let us stay on the front porch and play on the steps and in Ophie's rocker for a little bit.  I bet Mommy was glad she had her camera that night because otherwise she wouldn't have gotten this super cute picture of me!

Sissy was being kinda naughty during our walk and "asserting her independence" as Mommy would say.  I was just happy to be outside and tried to give Sissy some sugars...but I guess she didn't want to have any kisses from me.  I beginning to think Mommy is right when she says that Ella wants to be an only child!

Mommy said it was starting to get a little cool and looked like it was going to rain, so we took the shortcut home and walked through our back yards.  We got home just in time because Mommy was right and it did start to rain.  Since it was just a little bit of rain and none of that loud noise or bright lights that the sky makes, Mommy let us stay out and play in the rain a little.

 
We didn't stay out very long because sugar melts you know! When we went inside, sissy decided she wanted her dress off, as usual.  She also found one of our very first headbands from when we were itty bitty and she put it on her head...she is so silly! The rain stopped after about 10 min, so we went back out to play a little more before bed time.  Can you believe sissy went out with out clothes and looking like this?!

Mommy always says I'm a hot mess, but I'm beginning to think that sissy might be more of a mess than me! We have really fun neighbors that live next door and they have two little boys that all kinds of trucks and stuff on their porch to play with.  Every time we go outside, I run over there and get a toy to play with.  Usually sissy doesn't want to play with the boy toys, but I guess since she had no shirt on and was being a little crazy this night, she decided she wanted to play too.

Mommy let us play for a long time before we had to go in and I actually think that I'm the reason we called it a night.  Mommy said that it was one thing to play with boy toys but completely another thing to start acting like a boy by doing gross boy things like this

All I would like to say is that I love to pick my nose and Mommy better get used to it because I think that I might just do it for a very long time!
